CHOOSING ABUNDANCE Posted Friday June 11, 2010
I recently had an opportunity to hear Stephen Covey, world renowned author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, discuss network marketing. He described our industry as being enticing because of its abundance. "There is room for everyone to succeed,” Covey says, "because as you help lift others up to higher levels, the business model rewards you.”
Not every industry is as rewarding. The world around us becomes more stressful and demanding every day. According to the results of a recent gallup poll, it’s no wonder people are fearful. Here are a few points that Covey shared:
- 60% of Americans feel that the current economic situation is the biggest crisis of their lifetime. That means that in the United States alone, over 180 million people are living with this fear daily.
- 77% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.
- Retirement accounts lost about 40% ($3.3 trillion) in value between September 2007 and September 2009.
- 67% of people consider quitting their jobs on a daily basis.
- The national workforce feels hopeless and 61% of workers would prefer to be their own boss.
- Workers rate the ability to balance work and family as the most important indicator of satisfaction with their job.
All these statistics are legitimate reasons to be fearful until you realize that they all point to the unlimited potential and abundance of the network marketing industry. With network marketing you have a choice.

START WITH WHY Posted Tuesday May 11, 2010
When describing their business, most companies start by saying "what" they do. Like this:
Life Force makes nutritional supplements. They are the foundation for a healthy lifestyle and you can earn money by sharing them with others. Want to give them a try?

LESS IS THE NEW MORE Posted Tuesday May 4, 2010
I was sitting behind a line of cars at a stoplight the other day when I noticed the bumper sticker of the car in front of me. It said: Simplify. Less is the new more.
Simplicity is everything these days, isn't it? As consumers, we dread the complex. The more difficult it is to gather information about a product we're interested in, the less likely we are to pursue it.

WEAK TIES CAN BE STRONG LINKS Posted Thursday April 22, 2010
I read a book a few years ago called "Work the Pond" by Darcy Rezac. The book is all about networking and expanding your "pond", or your circle of influence, in order to grow your business. This author's message really stuck with me because he talks about the strength of weak ties.
It makes sense to spend the bulk of your time working on expanding your warm market and talking with people you know about the Life Force products and business opportunity. However, don't rule out the weak links completely. These acquaintances are probably people you see only once in a blue moon, but they can still be important.

THE DOOR IS OPEN Posted Tuesday April 6, 2010
Imagine that you're at a neighborhood barbeque and you meet Carla and Jim who just moved in down the street. As you are talking, you realize that you have a lot in common and that they would really benefit from knowing about all Life Force has to offer. You tell them a little about the products and they ask for more information.
What now? When you meet someone who would really benefit by getting involved in Life Force and you have a great conversation, how long do you wait to make a follow up call? One day? A week? Somewhere in between?

NEVER A CROWD ON THE EXTRA MILE Posted Wednesday March 24, 2010
I ran a 10K race a couple of weeks ago with some friends. I was lined up with the masses right before the race began when the guy next to me struck up a conversation. I asked him what brought him out to run and he told me that he had raised money for the event beneficiary -- a local children's hospital -- and that he had committed to run a certain number of miles for every dollar raised.
Now, this guy was not really a runner and he reluctantly admitted that this was his first race. "It's only 6.4 miles," I said, trying to reassure him. "It will be over before you know it!"
