START WITH WHY
Tuesday May 11, 2010
When describing their business, most companies start by saying "what" they do. Like this:
Life Force makes nutritional supplements. They are the foundation for a healthy lifestyle and you can earn money by sharing them with others. Want to give them a try?
Simon Sinek is an entrepreneur who argues that true leaders -- and truly remarkable companies -- start instead with "why" they do what they do:
At Life Force, we base everything we do on our belief in strengthening families and our joy in empowering people to live the life of their dreams. The way we strengthen families is to make products that you can trust to protect the health of the people you can't live without. And we put dreams within the reach of our Members by offering an opportunity to earn money for sharing products they truly believe in. We just happen to make great nutritional supplements. Want to give them a try?
A Life Force Member shared this video clip on our Facebook page today. In this clip, Sinek says that "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it." Take a look:
In our industry, it goes one step further. People don't buy what you do, they buy you -- they identify with who you are and what you stand for. People are motivated by your definition of happiness, because it's not that different from their own.
According to Sinek, “the goal is not to sell to people who need what you have, but to do business with people who believe what you believe."
What do you believe about Life Force? What do you believe about yourself? And how can you benefit from starting with your “why”?

I have used the quote "People dont care how much you know until they know how much you care." many times thru the years in my Human Service career, and I am grateful to see it being made more widely available so many more folks can hopefully internalize the wisdom, empathy & sense of spirituallity I was able to gain from it. THANK YOU
